South African cricketer AB de Villiers retired from all forms of cricket after the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year. Villiers has played for IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 11 long years.

Bangalore has honored AB Villiers and Chris Gayle with 'Hall of Fame' award this year for their outstanding contributions to the team. This is the first time since 2008 that the Proteas cricketer has not been on the IPL stage.

However, Villiers is returning to the IPL again next year. He will return to his famous team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Former Indian captain and RCB teammate Virat Kohli has already given that hints.

Kohli said that the team keeps in touch with Villiers on a regular basis. He remarked that de Villiers never missed any RCB matches. Kohli hopes Villiers will return to the next IPL with a new position.

This time Villiers himself has confirmed the matter. However, he has not yet confirmed exactly what role he will return to. The South African star commented that he is just delighted to hear that Kohli has confirmed this. "Honestly, we haven't made that decision yet. I will definitely be in the IPL next year. " He said.

Villiers also mentioned that he doesn’t know in which role, but he misses getting back there. He had heard that some matches will be played in Bangalore next year. Then, he will be able to return to his second city. He would like to see the full gallery of Chinnaswamy Stadium again. It would be nice to get back there. He looks forward to it.
