Pat Cummins, an Australian cricketer, made his IPL 2022 debut for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Mumbai Indians (MI) and wowed the MI camp, the KKR camp, and everyone watching the match with his incredible 14-ball fifty with the bat.

On April 6, 2022, in Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Mumbai Indians (MI) provided the debut to their young South African star Dewald Brevis. They faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 14th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2022).

Captain Shreyas Iyer of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the toss and elected to bowl first. Suryakumar Yadav (52 in 36 balls) and Tilak Varma (38* in 27 balls), who shared 83 runs for the sixth wicket, helped MI to 161/4 in 20 overs. Additionally, in the last over, Kieron Pollard blasted 22* in 5 balls with three sixes.

Kolkata Knight Riders were in trouble at 67/3 in 10 overs in their chase of 162 runs, with Sam Billings, who had been looking well, back in the hut for 17 runs. Andre Russel was supposed to deliver, but it was Pat Cummins who showed up with the bat.

Cummins transformed the face of the pursuit in a couple of overs, while Venkatesh Iyer steadied one end with 50* in 41 balls, including six fours and one six. To Tymal Mills and Jasprit Bumrah, he smashed a six and a four respectively. However, when Daniel Sams was hammered for 4 sixes and 2 fours in the 16th over, Cummins achieved his fifty in 14 balls and finished with 56 in 15 balls with 6 sixes and 4 fours.

KKR came out on top by 5 wickets with 24 balls to spare, and fans took to the internet to praise and congratulate the batter, as everyone was in awe of Pat Cummins' destruction.

Mumbai has lost three games in a row in IPL 2022. Daniel Sams scores the IPL's third-most expensive over (35) ever. KKR has jumped to the top of the points board.
