Serie A 2020-21 football betting: Lazio cruised to a 3-0 victory over AS Roma

On Friday, Lazio cruised to a 3-0 victory over city rivals Roma, equaling their best Serie A derby victory. The win lifted Lazio to seventh place on 31 points, just two behind fourth Juventus champions. With 34 points, Roma remains third, but are six points off leaders AC Milan having also played a game more.

In the 14th minute for his 12th goal of the season, Ciro Immobile opened the scoring. Luis Alberto scored the other two in the 23rd and 67th minutes, both with accurate shots. Roma, who last weekend had drawn 2-2 with second-placed Inter Milan, was saved from further punishment by goalkeeper Paul Lopez, who pulled off many fine second-half saves.

For new Roma owner Dan Friedkin, Friday's game was the first derby, but the result was desperately familiar.

Having already lost heavily to top-six rivals Napoli (4-0) and Atalanta (4-1) this season, Roma were undone by a much more competitive Lazio side.

When Manuel Lazzari stole the ball from under Roma's feet defender Roger Ibanez to allow Immobile to finish, the first goal came from a mistake.

The second goal was also created by Lazzari, finding his feet after initially slipping to free Alberto to score again with Ibanez at fault.

The heroics of Lopez were unable to stop Alberto from adding his second.

Later this weekend, Roma could be overtaken in the table when Juventus face Inter Milan.
