The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has submitted degree certificates to the National Academic Depository (NAD) for over 2.60 lakh students, claiming to be the only university in the state to have obtained this number of digitised degree certificates.

Certificates for 28 PhD diploma courses have been submitted to the National Academic Depository initiative of the University Grants Commission (UGC) (NAD).

From any corner of the globe, students can access these documents and can also do digital verification for higher education and work applications.

"Gujarat Technological University ranks among the top 10 universities in the country to have such a large number of student documents uploaded," said Prof Navin Sheth, Vice-Chancellor of the University.

69,200 diploma certificates, 1,69,296 bachelor's degrees, 24,919 master's degrees and 236 PhDs form a total of 2,63,778 certificates uploaded.

Data from other 1,06,364 students will be submitted during the existing 2020-21 academic session.

Since 2016, the university has uploaded documents and is now in the process of uploading documents from previous years.

This will ensure a protected location for these records. In particular, it will support students pursuing higher education overseas. In a short period, documents can be checked digitally, saving students time and money" added Sheth.
